Czech centres abroad are part of the Scholarships programme for foreign university students.
The aim of our international Centres is to offer students of partner universities Czech language courses, to introduce the culture of the Czech Republic and to provide counselling assistance to those interested in studying at universities in Brno.
OUR Czech centres abroad:
Previously we operated lectureships in Ulyanovsk (Russia) and Luhansk (Ukraine), Khanty-Mansiysk (Russia), and Kazan (Russia).
The Czech centre in Izhevsk was opened in the academic year 2009/2010 at Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University. This university has a long-term cooperation with the Brno University of Technology. Sofia Križan currently works as a lecturer in Izhevsk.

In September 2018, we opened a new Czech Language Centre at O.M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv. Our experienced lecturer Martin Horn became a Czech language teacher.

The Czech Centre is situated in thy city called Izhevsk (in Russian Иже́вск, in Udmurtian Ижкар), which is located in the east of European part of Russia. Izhevsk is the capital of Udmurtia and has 630 000 inhabitants. The city was established in 1760 as a settlement for foundry workers under name Izhevskij Zavod. In 1807 there was founded an arms factory, which has contributed to the city development especially during the Second World War and afterwards. The tradition of armaments industry continues till today, Izhevsk is a cradle of legendary AK 47 - Kalashnikov.
The Czech Centre has been opened on 19th October 2009 and it is focused on Czech language education and Czech culture promotion. It is situated at Izhevsk State Technical University, which provides majority of language courses visitors.
